Investigating the future of maritime workplace and the role of marine engineers in autonomous ships
The project will provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of marine engineers in the
operation and maintenance of recent new building ships having new class notations such as Safe
Return to Port (SRtP). The project will also provide a comprehensive understanding of the role of
marine engineers in the operation and maintenance of future autonomous ships. The project will
help MET institutes to take initiative and make plans for required competency developments. The
project furthermore investigates and reflects the findings during the sea trials of the first TT-line new
