SAMK and EPHEC University College in Belgium have signed a cooperation agreement. The agreement makes possible for five SAMK Business students to leave for a year-long student exchange in Brussels. On graduation, the students will get a diploma certificate both from SAMK and EPHEC, where they have completed a part of the studies belonging to the degree. A double degree can be taken during the time the student has the right to study, and it will not lengthen the time to complete the studies. Application to double degree will be made when applying to student exchange.

– Even though Finnish education has a good reputation, it might not be that well-known in higher education. The Belgian degree is better-known in Europe. Two degrees will make you stand out from the crowd, when applying for jobs after graduation. A double degree is an excellent push towards an international career, says Marina Wikman, Senior Lecturer at SAMK, who took part in the negotiations for the agreement.

– A double degree gives a more versatile perspective during the studies – something you would not get at one institution only, Marina Wikman continues.

Belgian Business students will mutually come to SAMK Rauma campus to study for a year in the degree programme of International Business.

SAMK has valid double degree agreements also with the French University of Clermont Auvergne on Business Administration education, with the Chinese Changzhou University on Nursing education, and with the Namibian NUST, Namibia University of Science and Technology on Maritime Engineering education. In addition, there is a path study agreement with the Beijing College of Finance and Commerce on Tourism and International Business degrees.
