Agora (ISSN 2242-2528) is the online magazine of Satakunta University of Applied Sciences. The magazine (ISSN 1456-114X) is also published in print once a year, only in Finnish.

We also publish blog posts about the work at SAMK and the people who do it, topics from studies to research and the politics of higher education – with a personal touch.

CERN Spring Campus in Finland for the first time – SAMK to host the event in May

CERN, the European Organisation for Nuclear Research, is organising its annual CERN Spring Campus Event in Finland for the first time. In May 2025, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) will host this major international event focusing on computer science and modern technology.

Excellent employment rates among SAMK graduates

According to the latest career monitoring survey, as many as 94% of SAMK graduates were employed or working as entrepreneurs. A further 3% were on study leave or family leave.

The TecRe project aims to promote Master’s level rehabilitation technology education by developing and implementing a comprehensive study module collaboratively designed by Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) and Bogomolets National Medical University (NMU), Ukraine.

The European Commission has awarded the Seal of Excellence to the DIVERSE University Alliance comprising Satakunta University of Applied Sciences (SAMK) and 11 other European higher education institutions. This positions SAMK as part of the flagship collaboration of the Commission’s European Strategy for Universities.

(Econ. & Bus. adm), MA degree and a BBA degree. I am also involved in at least the following working groups: the education export team, the sustainability and responsibility development group, the diverse SAMK development group and the steering group of the Digivision change programme.

I also act as an executive representative for the High technology foundation of Satakunta.
