

SAMK’s matrix-type organisation comprises four faculties:
President’s Office include Communication Services and Quality Services.
Vice President’s Office (Education) includes Student, Education and Continuing Education Services, International Relations, and Library.
Vice President’s Office (Research) includes RDI and Entrepreneurship, Project planning, Event, ICT, and Digital Services.
Finance and Administration Services also include Project Services, Facilities and Security and Human Resources.
SAMK’s operations are led by the President, who is also the Managing Director of the company. The President is supported by the Management Group, which comprises Vice Presidents, the Director of Finance and Administration Services as well as the Deans of Faculties and Head of Communications and Marketing.

Jari Multisilta, PhD, joined SAMK as President and CEO in autumn 2018. Prior to his current position, he was Director of the Pori University Consortium (since November 2014) and Professor at Tampere University of Technology (since 2001). He has also been Director of the Cicero Learning network for learning research at the University of Helsinki from 2011 to 2014. Prof. Multisilta has been a visiting researcher at Stanford University for a total of one and a half years and at the Nokia Research Center for two years. Her research focuses on learning technologies.

Filosofian tohtori (tekn.) KL, eMBA Heikki Haaparanta on työskennellyt SAMKissa vuodesta 2020. Ennen toimimistaan osaamisaluejohtajana, on hän toiminut SAMKin digitaalisen palveluliiketoiminnan yliopettajana. Hän on toiminut ennen SAMKiin tuloaan myös mm. tutkijana, kehitysjohtajana, rehtorina ja tietohallintojohtajana. Lisäksi hänellä on kokemusta yritysten hallitustyöskentelystä.
At SAMK, I work as a member of the communications and marketing team and manage communications services. I have a MSc degree
(Econ. & Bus. adm), MA degree and a BBA degree. I am also involved in at least the following working groups: the education export team, the sustainability and responsibility development group, the diverse SAMK development group and the steering group of the Digivision change programme.
I also act as an executive representative for the High technology foundation of Satakunta.

The Board of Directors comprises nine members: the cities of Pori and Rauma each appoint two members, the cities of Huittinen and Kankaanpää each appoint one member and business life representatives jointly appoint one member. The University of Applied Sciences has two members on the Board of Directors, one elected by the staff and another elected by the students. The President, who is also the Managing Director of the company, attends Board meetings as a presenting official.

SAMK’s Degree-specific Advisory Boards convey insights from the working life to direct and develop education and RDI operations regionally. In addition to the staff and students, the nearly 20 Advisory Boards of SAMK comprise business life representatives, some of whom are SAMK alumni. The Advisory Boards play an essential role in the development of curricula and the forecasting of the need for workforce and education as well as in the maintenance of constant interaction between SAMK and the working life.
