Study right
An ordinary right to study refers to a time, which the student has to complete the degree after the right to study has been granted. The right to study includes the terms available, for which the student has enrolled for attendance. Non-attendance is not included into the right to study as stipulated in the law.
Extension of the study right time
The extension of the study right must be applied for before the end of the last semester, when the study right is still valid. You can apply for an extension of your study right by filling in the Application for extension of study time.launch
When you apply for an extension of your study right, you will receive the decision before the end of the ongoing semester. If you apply for an extension during the autumn semester, you will be notified of the decision by 31 December. If you apply during the spring semester, you will be notified of the decision by 31 July.
Restoration of study right
A student who has been resigned may apply for the restoration of the study right by filling in an application formlaunch. If you have been registered as resigned from your degree studies over a year ago, consult with your study counsellor (bachelor students) or a person assigned by your degree program (master students) before applying. Include the plan for finishing degree studies (form OP15A)launch developed with your study counsellor in your application.
Handling an application of returning the study right takes approximately one month. During holiday periods, the handling of applications takes a longer time. There is a processing fee associated with the restoration of study right, which is 50 €. Students, who are required to pay the tuition fee, will receive instructions for paying the tuition fee if their application is accepted.
