At the beginning of studies and the academic year
All degree programmes in English are daytime studies. The daytime studies are offered on weekdays from 8:00 to 18:00 on campuses.
It is helpful to read the information about language and communication studies at the beginning of your studies.
At SAMK, you study on your own computer. You can find information about the device requirements on the Bring your own device page. During your studies, you will need a SAMK-ID, which you can find instructions for creating at the link below.
You can find important information about your studies in SAMK’s degree regulations. The SAMK procedural instructions complement the Degree Regulations and describe the processes for studying and completing your studies. You can consult the procedural instructions in the ARC system, where you can log in using your SAMK email address and password. Once logged in, on the ARC home page, click on the link “Quality” and then “Education”. Once you have done this, you will be able to read the procedural instructions for your studies.
During your studies
For information on the content and delivery of studies, see the curriculum of the degree programme and the course implementation plans. The curricula can be found in the SAMK study guide, and the course implementation plans can be accessed either via SAMK study guide (no login required) or via the study management system Loki (requires login with SAMK-ID).
Timetables are in the TimeEdit system, where you log in with your SAMK-ID. You can also get your own timetable in the Tuudo app after you have enrolled for a study course. You will also receive news and various information during your studies via Tuudo.
You can see your coursework assessments in Loki on your personal studyplan (PSP), and they are also transmitted to the Tuudo app on your mobile phone. After each course, you can give feedback on the course implementation in the Tuudo app.
Information on exchange studies is on student intranet Oiva, which requires a login.
Behind these links you will find information on practical training as part of your studies, cross-institutional studies, i.e. taking courses at other higher education institutions, and exchange studies. You can also find news and information on the student intranet Oiva.
If you are considering changing your field of study, it is also possible to transfer to another degree programme within SAMK.
