Confirm your study place on StudyInfo by the deadline. You will find the link to StudyInfo from the email that you have received from StudyInfo service about the admission results. Please check your spam folder in case the email has gone there. If you are not able to confirm the study place on StudyInfo, send your confirmation to the Admission Office by email by the deadline. The email of our Admission Office is admissions@samk.fi.
Accepting a study place is a binding choice, and you cannot cancel or change your choice later. When you accept a binding study place, all other study places offered to you will automatically be cancelled. When accepting a study place from any higher education institution in Finland, please note you will not be considered a first-time applicant in future applications.
If you don’t confirm the study place by the deadline, the study place will be cancelled and automatically offered to the next applicant on the waiting list. Not all study programmes have a waiting list.
After confirming the study place, you must enroll as present or absent for the academic year. The enrollment should be done on StudyInfo. If you can not enroll for the academic year on StudyInfo, please send your enrollment to us admissions@samk.fi.

Enrolling as present or absent for the academic year
After confirming the study place you must enroll as present or absent for the academic year.
- If you are an EU/EEA student, you can enroll for the academic year on the Studyinfo website or by sending an e-mail to the Admissions Office (admissions@samk.fi) by the enrollment deadline.
- If you are a non-EU/EEA student, you can enroll as present by paying the tuition fee. The tuition fee payment instructions are sent to you with the same email with the acceptance letter. After paying the tuition fee, please send the receipt of the payment to admissions@samk.fi by the deadline.
We will send you a study certificate only after the payment has reached SAMK’s bank account. Usually, it takes couple of weeks for the payment to reach SAMK’s bank account from a foreign bank. The study place is officially confirmed when we have received and processed your payment.
According to the Polytechnic act, 1st year student can only enroll as absent, if they are:
- carrying out military service, civilian service or voluntary military service according to Finnish legislation,
- on maternity, paternity or parental leave or
- unable to start one’s studies due to sickness or injury.
If you are enrolling as absent, you are required to provide a document stating the statutory reason for your absence. The document must be sent to admissions@samk.fi by the enrollment deadline.
If you do not enroll for the academic year by the deadline, you will be registered as resigned from SAMK on the first day of your study right time.

The Admissions Office plans and implements the applications and selection of students for degree programmes and provides advice to applicants. In addition, the Admissions Office handles tasks related to the registration for the academic year and processes the resignation notifications and the applications for the extension or restitution of the study right. They collect tuition fees from the students liable to pay the fees and prepare decisions on the scholarships granted based on study results.
