What does your studies involve?

Objective of the studies is to make you a versatile professional in international business:

• you are able to handle all necessary operations along the international supply chain
• you are creative and innovative in designing services for international businesses
• you are competent is working in multicultural teams and global networks
• you have the necessary tools for solving problems and communicating the solutions.

Our International Business programme will prepare you to work on a broad scale of tasks in international companies. You will be able to handle all necessary operations along the supply chain from raw material supplier to the final consumer. You can read more about the studies in the programme in the curriculum.

After the graduation you will be well equipped for an exciting career in an international company abroad or in Finland - or for possible further studies towards a master’s degree, which ever you choose.

The programme provides you with an inspiring and challenging way to learn by doing. You will work in international teams with your fellow students on real-life cases. Your information acquiring, and communication skills will evolve, and you will develop your problem-solving skills within multi-cultural teams and networks.

Besides the Finns, in a typical year, 40 – 60% of the students of our programme come from various cultures around the world. In addition, Satakunta University of Applied Sciences welcomes also a lot of exchange students each year. Thus, during your studies, we can guarantee multicultural exposure at home as well as through a wide range of opportunities for a study or working period abroad. All this prepares you towards becoming a truly global professional!

Studies take place on campus

Studies are conducted during daytime on Monday-Friday on SAMK campus in Rauma. The campus is located at Satamakatu 26. Studying requires full-time studying and presence on our campus. There are not online studies available for this degree programme.

Specialisations

What are your options for specialisation?

The specialization is selected during the second year of study. You are able to select your alternative professional studies from a range of topics within Supply Chain Management, Maritime Business, Service Design and eCommerce. Based on your career aspirations you are also able to select your specialization even more widely through our cooperation with other SAMK international programs or during an exchange period within the globlal network of the SAMK partner universities. Personal study plan is created for each student where the specialization studies are planned.
