AI is shaking the field of technology as we speak. In addition to its impact on the future, it already has a significant impact on our everyday life.
The demand for AI specialists with hands-on experience and a deep understanding of these tools that can harness the power of AI in different usage scenarios is growing substantially.
Today AI is in the form of tools and libraries that doesn't require scientific background to use them. Programming skills are not required to start the studies however students will pick up the skills required as most of the courses in AI include programming and working with development environments.
Curriculum Link opens in a new tabThe graduates are capable of working as programmers but with the additional hands-on skills for working close to the company data and the AI technologies used in the company. The graduates also have the necessary understanding to detect situations where AI can be implemented efficiently to create significant value for the company.
The specialization in the studies is generally selected during the second year of study. You can choose between four specialization options: Data Analytics (15 ECTS), Artificial Intelligence (20 ECTS), Programming (28 ECTS) and Databases (8 ECTS).

AI has been democratized and the need for it has exploded. So has the shortage of competent AI professionals in companies – those who can apply, innovate and solve problems with artificial intelligence. The AI education started this autumn at SAMK aims at educating professionals to meet this particular need.
A group of 55 students started their studies at SAMK in the new, international AI education. The group includes students of 15 different nationalities, and almost half of them come from outside the EU. The background of the students is really versatile; there are students straight from school to those changing careers.
