We make dreams come true. Finland succeeds when the Satakunta region succeeds. Satakunta succeeds when SAMK succeeds. We succeed together.
Our job is to make dreams come true, no matter how big or small. Our work-oriented education enables each of our students to graduate and find employment. Future growth stories are built around our core competences and faculties, around human welfare and modern industry. Our doors are open to the world, and we are part of the European higher education community. SAMK is a thriving higher education community of skilled people with its roots in Satakunta and its eyes on the future.
We educate, develop and internationalize, and we promote entrepreneurship. The economic and industrial structure of the Satakunta region requires us to provide extensive and multidisciplinary education and research opportunities.
Our profile: People and renewing industry. Finland depend on the industry of Satakunta and the West Coast. The role of people in a renewing industry is important. Skilled workers and new technologies help to achieve common goals.

According to feedback from our students (AVOP 2024), our key strengths include study planning and guidance, student support services, and international opportunities.
SAMK has been ranked as the provider of the highest-quality education among Finnish universities of applied sciences based on the AVOP survey average from 2010 to 2021. SAMK has achieved the top position four times, most recently in 2021.
AVOP, the Finnish universities of applied sciences’ graduation-phase student feedback survey, is conducted annually. In this survey, students evaluate and provide feedback on their completed education. The results are used for institutional development as well as for national education governance and funding. The survey is completed by all degree students graduating from universities of applied sciences in Finland.
Our vision is that every one of our students will be employed.
According to the latest career monitoring survey, as many as 94% of SAMK graduates were employed or working as entrepreneurs. A further 3% were on study leave or family leave.
Universities of applied sciences conduct a career monitoring survey for students who have graduated from a university of applied sciences with a bachelor’s or master’s degree five years earlier. The last career monitoring survey was conducted in 2024, targeting those who graduated from SAMK in 2019. The purpose of the survey is to assess the graduates’ career paths, employment situation and satisfaction with the degree they completed.
Cross-institutional studying allows students to take courses offered by other higher education institutions. We are involved in several cross-institutional study networks. The networks and agreements for cross-institutional studies vary and cover a wide range of studies. Many networks focus only on a specific field of study.
